My neighbours can breathe through finally...

By the weekend we finish the works with the gunite,
the rough pool bassin is ready.

The last carrier of stainless steel for the clamps of the solar panels are welded. Beginning the upcoming week, we can start with installing the remaining 8 panels and connect them to the heating cycle.

The stone plates of anthracite coloured granite for the washstands
in the bathrooms have arrived on Monday and will be fitted during the week.

As soon as the stands are set in all three bathrooms, the remaining plastering works can start.

The pergola near the kitchen is prepared for the floor
tiles: Like at the upper terraces a water proof saving
layer is applied and then Carlos can start.

The tiles are laid and grouted by Friday and now we only have to set the tiling works in the laundry and the garage.

May 25, 2010 3 lorry loads of sand and 2 pallets of cement are
delivered. Sand and cement are mixed with a
machine and applied with a hose and high pressure.

Only at the front of the cone the mixture gets water.
A very dusty work.

First the floor is made, then the side walls follow.

The carpenter takes measurements and starts with
the wall cupboards. The cupboards get an interior lining, the doors of solid wood are white and the frames will
be light grey, quite similar to the room doors.

May 21, 2010 This week we finished with the tiles on ground floor.
Now all tiling works inside the house have been finished. Only some bits and pieces are missing, where the jambs of Binissalem stones have to be set first.

After all stairs have been finished, Miguel can return to the window frames. By the end of the week there are only 4 unfinished frames left.

After a meeting with the civil engineer we know, what will come referring to power supply. GESA dictates very clear, how the supply has to look like and where the electric meter and the fuse block have to be situated. At least, the ugly cable at the storefront can be put under the boardwalk.

The outer wall of the pool is isolated now and the rubble drain around the pool can be filled with pebbles and a
first layer of soil.

Next week we will begin with the works with the gunite.

We start with another part of the garden border.
It is important that we do not overcrowd the entrance
to the site.

On the two upper floors we install the first plugs and switches.

The electrical control center becomes fuller and fuller
and it seems as it would be a whole industrial complex
we could serve with this.

This looks nice. I am very happy with the stairway from ground floor to the basement. The contrast of colours is harmonious and the stair steps made of stone with the adequate mopboard is looking great. Image optimacasa

May 14, 2010 The first layer of solar panels is installed.

A massive supporting frame made from INOX has been installed last week and is the base for the 12 panels to provide the optimacasa house with energy.

The week stood under the signs of the preparation works for the tiling and grouting on ground floor.

Many decoration battens made of Binissalem stones are set. The stair steps in the entrance and to the living room are set and also the stairs to the basement are finished.

From next week on we can begin
with the concrete works.

The floor of the pergola is also isolated.

This is to avoid condensation water within the basement area underneath.

The last cork plates are laid and
a layer of concrete is added.

Some small works are continuing. The stair steps to the 2nd floor are ready, window frames are grouted and more horizontal wall endings are fitted with stone plates. Cleaning works on 1st floor are also continuing.

The chiseller took the mass of the table plates within the bathrooms and as soon as the plates will be delivered,
the plaster works can be finished.

The shower basins are also sealed, the mosaic floor within the showers
is laid and the wall joints are grouted. As soon as the floor is laid, the lowermost layer of wall tiles can
be set.
