Week review: Last cable slots within the machinery room are done and the empty tubes are laid. The floor drain is also ready. The lower part of the walls in the machinery room is tiled to be protected from splash water. All floors except the wine cellar are isolated and have their cleanliness layer.

First delivery of the stone plates done on size has come. Now we can begin with the covers of the outer walls. Within the inner area many small working steps have been finished. The wall cupboards get their higher floor and the wall cutouts are closed. Both cisterns are prepared and get their interior finish and a coat of paint.

Week review: On Monday we begin with the layering of the floor heating on 2nd floor. Isolated pimple-mats are cut on size and laid before the tubes come in. They are laid in coils to make sure that we will get a constant heat distribution. Altogether there are 5 heating circuits on this floor, they come together in the distributor in the bathroom.

Within the basement area the last empty tubes are set and the cable bundles are arranged into the electricity cupboard. The empty tubes are all laid now and the first part of the electric installations are finished.

After laying the heating circles we will cover the delicate tubes with a thinned layer of concrete. Then the definitive plaster comes up to the exact height. This plastering is laid swimming, so it has no contact to the understructure or the walls to minimise tension and to have a protection from impact noise.

We protect all the conduction in the machinery room with concrete. The empty spaces in between are filled with cork bits. A layer of gravel is covering everything and then the definitive plaster kann come.

Gravel is delivered in big amounts and the rooms on 1st floor and on ground floor get their cleanliness layer. From the beginning of January we will begin to lay the floor heating here. The floors within the basement rooms and the bodega get a special layer of isolation before they are plastered.

Week review: Because of the holidays the working week only began on Wednesday. But therefore we begin already with the surface layer where the floor heating is put upon. We begin on upper floor and continue downwards. A specialist of Calizas Manacor is taking the measures of the stairsteps and draws models. The stairsteps will be manufactured on request so everything has to fit very well.

Within the machinery room the chute for the soakage is prepared and gets its definite form. We reduce the aperture to 60/60 cm and give it an airtight lid. The cable channels of the central distribution boxes all go into the just prepared electro-board. Next to it to the right there will come another board of the same size for stress equalization etc. The whole communication sector (TV, telephone and internet) will go into a seperate board on the opposite wall.

Week review: Two of the three basement rooms underneath the pergola are tiled. The paint works I will do by myself next week.

Next step at the electric installations: The cables on the two upper floors are all laid and all boxes and distribution boxes are wired. Now there is some regularity within the chaos of kilometres of electronic wires. In the machinery room the sanitary installations are continued and some more preparation works for the screed have to be done.

This Saturday I have the possibility to present the optimacasa house to the owner and a editorial journalist of the famous and high-circulating magazine "abc-Mallorca". Mr. Letzerich and Mr. Kroiss are impressed and amazed of the elaborate concept of my energy saving house. The magazine is going to present a special about ecological topics within its spring edition and optimacasa will be portrated as exemplar - cool! :-)
