| Originally it should have been a Finca Hotel. Nothing big, just 5 to 6 guestrooms, a comprehensive garden, pool and Spa area, as well as genuine, rustic cuisine. Unfortunately nothing came of it, simply because I could not get planning consent for a new build project. On the other side of the coin, the renovation and restoration of an old Finca was financially out of the question. A project on this scale is at very least equally as expensive as a new-build. Whether the results afterwards would have justified the high costs of refit, insulation, heating etc is questionable. |
The next stage was to explore new paths and play with new ideas. Following my experiences of renovating my own Finca in 2003, the time for a new build project had finally come. For a good 2 years I was on the look-out for a suitable plot: either big enough for at least 25 000m², or for the build of a comfortable Finca in the countryside, or a town plot in an urban but nevertheless quiet situation. |
