Originally it should have been a Finca Hotel. Nothing big, just 5 to 6 guestrooms, a comprehensive garden, pool and Spa area, as well as genuine, rustic cuisine. Unfortunately nothing came of it, simply because I could not get planning consent for a new build project.

On the other side of the coin, the renovation and restoration of an old Finca was financially out of the question. A project on this scale is at very least equally as expensive as a new-build. Whether the results afterwards would have justified the high costs of refit, insulation, heating etc is questionable.
The next stage was to explore new paths and play with new ideas.

Following my experiences of renovating my own Finca in 2003, the time for a new build project had finally come. For a good 2 years I was on the look-out for a suitable plot: either big enough for at least 25 000m², or for the build of a comfortable Finca in the countryside, or a town plot in an urban but nevertheless quiet situation.
